(Please visit the site to view this file)I am performing a frame analysis and need to use circular steel prismatic members as beam sections. When I perform the analysis, the result I get is that the prismatic members are overstressed due to flexural stress. The stress in the beams does not correspond with my hand calculations Stress=M/S and in fact is way off. It appears that the moment in the beam is correct and all of the member properties are correct (i.e. moment of inertia, modulus of elasticity) so I'm not sure how the stress could be so high. There is no axial stress. This is only happening for the prismatic members and I have encountered this in the past.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
