User Question :
Hi
I am modelling a steel frames with shear walls and steel cross bracing. It is two part structure interacting to each other.
I have the following issues:
1. Shear walls to steel beams: I have problems with connecting steel beams to shear wals as per attached. I get instabilities and I think it is a modelling issue.
2. Warnings and instabilities: I don't know if I have to ignore the other warnings or if it is a major issue.
3. Structural metal deck with diaphragm action. How should we model diaphragm action on slabs? I used the slave command for this reason, is that correct?
4. Import STAAD to Fastrak Buidling Desinger or Tekla
How can I export the STAAD file and import it in Fastrak or Tekla? I found some answers online (i.e. to save the STAAD file as joint coordinates) but I don't know how to do this. Can you give me a step by step procedure please? I am using STAAD.ProV8i, Fastrak Building Designer Vr. 15.0.0.1 and Tekla Structural Designer 2015.
I would appreciate if you could help me out with these issues as soon as possible as I need to give beam sizes asap.
Thanks
Eleana
