how to model a haunch or any bolted connection using FE modelling with parametric modelling within Staad:
i am interested in:
- modelling the bolts such that they only take tension and not compression.
- modelling the bolts such that load from washer is spread over a considerable area. Would this be done using MATER SLAVE command.
- how to interpret the results to ensure that buckling capacity of the stiffeners or compression parts is not exceeded.
