Integrated STAAD and Autopipe

Dear colleagues

We are attempting to model piping and its structure using integrated STAAD and Autopipe program. The piping in this case is 30" and the model includes thermal expansion

Before this our initial approach to use CAESAR to calculate the forces and apply to structure model in STAAD. In this approach, when friction force is applied, I believe it assumes constant force which in actual case does not exist as friction seize to exist when pipe has fully expanded.

Our second approach is to model using integrated CAESAR and Autopipe. This is so we can include both civil and pipe in the same model. By apply thermal expansion in pipe, we are trying to find out the effect of forces onto structure.

In short, we wish to analyze pipe thermal expansion forces acting on the structure which we believe is time dependent. and frictional force seize to exist when pipe fully expanded. How can we incorporate this into the model ? Is it possible that this is incorporated into our first and second approach?

Pardon if there is unclear description of the situation. Pls highlight your queries if any
