I designed a frame by considering temperature load. it was success while doing in-place analysis. but whole frames are failing with high stress ration in lifting condition. kindly advise the issue. Moreover i referred many posts regarding temperature load assignment in staad. but still the topic is not clear. please advise the 3 values to be assigned in thermal load if the parameters are as follows
Stress free temp = 27 Deg C
minimum ambient temperature = 0 deg c
maximum ambient temperature = 50 deg C
when i assigned value as 35 in first column the result was very high; more than 100 tons at Fx in one support , where total weight is 35 tons only. please advise.
In addition the unit of temperature in not available in staad whether it is deg c or deg f
