Dear Bentley Support Team,
I recently raised an issue related to Design error in the RCDC program. The program erroneously calculates the reinforcements for the columns under bi-axial bending and reports lower reinforcements than what is actually expected. Surprisingly, this is not common in all the columns with bi-axial bending. This does occur in few cases. After digging down deeper, it was evident that the RCDC program does really have difficulties in understanding the sign conventions. The effects of this error are much more drastic in the slender columns.
I raised this issue to bentley through our local supplier and explained them of this problem. Bentley never contacted me, but apparently sent a response to the supplier saying that this issue was addressed in the latest version, that is 06.03.01.02. Then I re-verified this issue with the latest available version, the problem still exists and I demonstrated the same to our supplier on his own system. After all the demonstration the supplier goes "actually bentley said they will be fixing it in the next version which is due for release in 2 weeks".
This is a very blunt response and raises concerns on the credibility of the software.
A proper justification / response in this regards from the technical team is highly appreciated.
