I am working on a project with Seismic Analysis of a Steel Structure for CHILE CODE (not available in STAAD) (ASCE cannot be used).
I have preformed the Generic Response Spectrum Analysis with RS Curve made with Chilean Code and Use those parameters by normalising and creating a Generic RSA method. My problems are:
1. Load case 1 to 3 are for Lateral, longitudinal & Vertical EQ directions respectively. The reactions so obtained in LC 1 to 3 have values in all three directions X, Y & Z but in Static Analysis it is not same. For X direction, reactions will be only in X directions and for Y & Z it will be zero. Is there a way the Loads can be only in required directions??
2. Assumptions in Loads. ALL LOADS are applied as POINT LOADS ON the NODES (In X, Y & Z direction). NO FLOOR LOADS ARE THERE.
For this reason, I have to switch to Static Seismic Analysis. As Seismic Definitions are not available for CHILE CODE. How to perform Static Seismic Analysis? How to apply Generic Acceleration in the Static Seismic Analysis??
Please advise.
