Hello and Good Day,
Please i am modeling a Steel space structure of a truss which has a cantilever member of 2.4m extending out of the face of the truss and it is subjected to a point load of 0.35KN 0.625 away from the free end. The thing is that the deflection i got exceeds the permissible for a cantilever L/180. The maximum i am getting is 33mm from the picture attached below.What can i do because i have tried increasing the section property but it doesn't solve it. I assume Staadpro knows that it is a cantilever and that it is fixed at the end connecting to the face of the truss or am i wrong? Please i would like suggestions on what to do to reduce that deflection or corrections if i did something wrong. The picture is attached.
