I am currently using STAAD Foundation Advanced v8.2.0.31. I decided to use one of the SFA example foundations to learn how to design a mat foundation. Under the US Codes folder I opened up the file "us-mat-combined-foundation-1". I immediately analyzed the foundation to obtain the calculation sheet, and I am clearly receiving non-zero results. When I go the Geometry tab and access the Output View Options, the plate stress are not correct on the model. The legend shows the plate stress results as either zero or one outrageous number that is not related to the foundation. However, the soil pressure appears to work and shows a good distribution. Does anyone know why this is doing this? I tested SFA on two different computers so I have concluded it must be a software problem.
