I have an equipment with legs that sitting on a structure. intermediate legs are sitting on the structure (not mounted to it), I need to model the end release for these legs to have compression only at the interface with structure (i.e. lower end). How is that possible in STAAD? This is for doing wind analysis in order to neglect uplift resistance in these interior non mounted legs.
Note: I know we can do it for foundation (as spring with compression only), but my question is about interface between structures. since ASCE 7 stipulate modeling both when the weight of the top flexible component is heavy.
