I'm just a beginner here in STAAD. I'm just trying to learn STAAD mostly from the communities and I observe that most of the Plates are modeled with the Z axis pointing downward so I assume that the Top concrete cover is the -Z axis of the plate and the Bottom is the +Z axis. But a friend of mine send his model with the plates +Z axis pointing upward and he assumed that the Top cover is the +Z axis of the plates. This makes me confused and I need to model a Plate with different top and bottom concrete covers for my project. I don't have seniors in our workplace to answer my questions regarding STAAD and my friend is also a beginner so I just post it here. Please someone answer this and Thank you in advance.
