I am developing verification models for Foundation Advanced (FA) and was following an article posted by Sye Chakraborty, titled "Mat analyzed in STAAD.Pro and designed in STAAD.Foundation Advanced". Although helpful, the article appears to be lacking in the details for defining the boundary necessary to use the Mat slab analysis/design options in FA. I was able to import the STAAD model, but if you try to Add Rectangular Boundary immediately after importing the model, FA cannot recognize the boundary. What does work; however, is if you go to the "Add meshing regions" input dialog first, define the region using the Length, Width, and Y data, and select the "Add region" button. This will create the boundary and you can then proceed to the analysis/design module. I offer this summary to hopefully eliminate some confusion that is created by the article previously posted.
For information, I have attached the STAAD.Pro file and the STAAD.Foundation Advanced file.
