Hello Everyone,
I have modeled a slab on grade in staad using plate meshing and an elastic mat underneath. However, when I imported this result into staad foundation and designed it as a mat foundation I have observed that my mat is failing the punching shear test. This doesn't make sense to me as I have no columns on this mat, only plate loads and self weight loads. Could someone assist me in explaining this observation or should I ignore this check for situations such as this.
