I am modeling a lateral shear wall with lateral columns attached to both sides. When looking at the member forces, do forces in the shear wall include the influence of the columns on either side. Or do the member forces act separately. For overturning, the one column is in compression while the other is in tension, does the shear wall member forces account for this? I don't want to mistake forces in the columns and shear wall to make sure there is not uplift. I saw the forum post about the pilaster and the distribution of axial forces, but didn't include anything with moment and interaction between the two.
Thanks
