Does STAAD(21.00.02.43) consider Cl. 13.3.3.3 (or Cl. 13.3.3.4 if with a transverse load) for single angle compression strength as per CSA S16-14?What is STAAD's preference to the 'rational analysis' for lateral-torsional buckling bending strength as per Cl. 13.6 for single angles or other singly symmetric sections not covered under Cl.13.6(e) or when the stem of tee sections are in compression? Also, how does STAAD calculate compression strength, Cr, in combination with bending, Mrx and Mry, of single angle (equal and unequal) and tee sections as per Cl.13.8.3(b and c)-overall member/lateral-torsional buckling strength? I find it hard to match the results with my hand calculations. We are planning to use STAAD(21.00.02.43) for the detailed engineering of a large-scale project which will commence very soon so I have to complete my verification of this version using CSA S16-14 code asap. I would appreciate your prompt response.
