Hello,
Is there a way to account for the actual cut length of a beam in determining the number of studs RAM assigns to a composite beam? To illustrate my question: the centerline length of a beam running perpendicular to the concrete metal deck in RAM may be 30'; however, one end of the beam is framing into a W30x132 (10.5" flange width) and the other end is framing into a W24x62 (7" flange width). Add to this the cope in the top beam flange (1" @ each end of beam), and up to 12" at each end for 12" flute spacing if a bottom flute doesn't land at exactly each end of the beam... Then the maximum number of studs in a single row on the beam can only be 28, not 30 studs as RAM calculates. I'd like to avoid having to manually assign the number of studs to each beam, if possible :)
Any help with this would be appreciated!
