Hi!
I am trying to model two columns supporting a truss using Staad pro connect v22, the first column will act as a roller support and will be released for moment in all axes and release for shear in horizontal axes(supporting only vertical shear) while the second column will not have any releases. I have tried simulating the intended reactions using the attached file. A 1KN force parallel to the beam was introduced to test the reactions of the model producing my intended results for Shear and Moment reactions. However it still produces a displacement on the top of the first column wherein a perfect roller should cause no displacement along the axis of the force.
Would it be possible to model the column to support the beam with like a roller support?
