Wish I could insert screen shots here. Hope my description is clear enough.
I have a Staad model of a 9 story steel tower with diagonal bracing in one direction and V bracing in the other direction. All bracings are Tee sections of European shapes.
One of the base bracing is keeping failing the LTB check which is weird since all four of these bracing are using same member and the structure is symmetrical. All other three has the similar utilization ratio.
I have tried different way to debug the problem but all failed.
- Changed section for only this member. Some cases it worked but the adjacent bracing failed the LTB check with same design check results.
- Delete the member and recreate the member with same property and same loading. The adjacent bracing failed the LTB check with same design check results.
- Updated the offset and beta angle. Did not make any change on the result.
I am running an EN 1993-1-1:2005 design check using all European project.
Have you guys met this kind of issue before? Can you shed a light on this issue?
