I am running an analysis on a large structure and STAAD keeps splitting up my loads and properties into numerous sets. For example when I assign Self weight to the model it works fine as one item but when I reopen the file STAAD has split the load into many. No members are duplicated just the entire selection is broken out into various sets with no rhyme or reason. see the following:
The same thing happens for Properties. If I assign 200 members to a property it is fine until I reopen the file and there will now be numerous properties of the same property and the 200 will randomly be split up into them. Once again no members are duplicated within the properties just split up. This makes the reports confusing as to what the difference is between the properties with the same name (none, just that STAAD keeps splitting them up). My only resolution is to go through and regroup them into a single property for each run the report and then send it to the customer. This sometimes takes 20-30 minutes on the larger structures. When I reopen the file I am back to the same problem.
