So I am modeling an apartment building with a very irregular layout using RAM Structural System and then using concept primarily for slab analysis and design. The goal is to design using traditional reinforcement. I think I have an acceptable design strip layout, and I think I am using the proper cross section trimming and whatnot, but I keep getting what feels like excessive shear reinforcement amounts. I realize this shear is coming from one-way shear as it is an independent calculation from the SSR calcs. I'm also not entirely sure that my user reinforcement is defined correctly. I noticed it has made some difference in the deflection results and in the amount of program reinforcement so maybe it is, it just doesn't feel right.
I have uploaded the model, and I am currently focused on the 2nd Floor.
I realize that was probably vague, so what I would like help on is:
1. Confirmation that my user reinforcement is defined correctly
2. Any pointers on a more appropriate design strip layout if mine is not 'good'
3. A suggestion for reducing my shear reinforcement
Thank you very much.
