Hi, I use the SFA CONNECT v8.3.0.20.
My question is that when SFA check for punching shear of combined foundation, would the additional moment from applied shear and applied moment at the top of pedestal have been considered as required by ACI-318-11 clause No. 11.11.7.2/ ACI-318-05 clause No. 11.12.6.2?
Based on your verification manual (CONNECT Edition Update 3 (v8.3)), when you check for punching shear of isolated foundation with shear and moment at the top of pedestal for US Code, the punching shear check follows requirement of ACI-318-11 clause No. 11.11.7.2/ ACI-318-05 clause No. 11.12.6.2, an additional factor should be added to account moment affect has been considered. However, this additional moment is not calculated when you check for punching shear of combined foundation in the verification manual (problem 5.12).
I found this answer in another question in the forum, but it is not clear if it is applied to MAT foundation or Combined foundation. Note that based on Verification manual for combined foundation examples, the impact of additional unbalanced moment is not mentioned.
