Hello -
I am working on a RR bridge (91' simple span) with deep thru girders (82" depth X 1" thick web and 28" X 3" flanges Fy = 50ksi). After building the model with STAAD pro V8i SS6, I found that max moment, force, deflection, etc all seem ok. However, the max. tensile and compressive stresses are 8-10 times greater then the allowable. One interesting is that if I changed the thru girder section to a shallower section, like W40X655, the max stresses are ok. Could someone help me? I have attached the STAAD input file here.
