Please see attached model where in absence of Staad foundation I am trying to get vessel support reactions from nozzle loads.
I have modelled all elements representing nozzles, vessel and support legs as stiff dummy elements to achieve a rigid model.
All elements have been modelled with respect to the centre line of the shell. The nodes 10, 12 and 14 are the nozzles, locations of the applied loads. The support legs, beams 3,5,6 & 7 are rigid arms for support legs beams 1, 8, 9 & 4. I am discounting any distribution of the reactions due to deformation of the shell hence the I have also modelled nodes 2,4,7 & 6 as 'slaves' to the vessel 'master' node 5.
The reactions obtained at the supports I will use as the loads to the pedestals on top of the RC raft, later. There I will model the pedestals as 'dummy' stiff elements with similar A & I values as used within this model.
