I am trying to use steel design interactive module of Staad Pro (V8i SS6 20.07.11.90) and I have encountered some difficulties...
I have created 2 envelopes of load combinations ,one for strength check (SLU load combinations) and the other one for deflection checking (SLS load).
The next step was to define the briefs. I have defined one brief for strength and one for deflection check...and here I faced first issue...I have tried to set the parameter list ,for first brief excepting DFF and for second brief only with DFF parameter. Although I've marked and unmarked the radio buttons for each parameters, these two briefs remained identical. Can somebody explain me why?
The next issue is the creation of design groups. I choose the group name, setting the envelope and the corresponding brief properly ( I think ) Add to this group all members I want to be checked to first brief (strength).
Then I was trying to define the second group for deflection check. But all the program is doing is to keep the G1 (design group) and change the brief and envelope, so no way to define a new group (G2 for instance).
Can somebody explain me what is wrong with all my steps? This is first time when I am using steel design interactive module, till now I used the steel design parameters from Modeling.
