I have several technical questions related to STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition (21.00.00.57)
I want to use it in my research work. I do not know it, I want to use it in different nonlinear analysis cases. To can evaluate it before learning, I have some questions as:
1- I want to understand can it do nonlinear analysis of concrete buildings based on plasticity of whole structure; complete non- linearity (along the length of the concrete element and its depth ) or it just defines some plastic hinges in some locations before analysis? please clarify?
2- Can it do a complete nonlinear analysis of concrete structures with showing the shear and flexure cracks at failure of concrete element ?
3- in case of modeling of Existing Concrete Structure by STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition (21.00.00.57) software, my question is how to insert the steel bars reinforcement in concrete sections for columns, beams and slabs firstly before running (to actually represent the existing concrete building )?
4- Can it do assessment of existing concrete buildings and can it do the required automatically design of the retrofitting or strengthening works by concrete jackets, steel jackets and by FRP jackets for unsafe concrete buildings (as columns, beams and slabs) after nonlinear analysis?
5-Can it take into consideration the effects of corrosion of reinforcement and concrete cracks during assessment of existing concrete structures?
6- Can it do Nonlinear time-history dynamic analysis of concrete buildings ?
7- Can it model the concrete- steel interaction (bond slip)?
8- Can it define the performance criteria of building (performance based design) after doing the nonlinear analysis by distributed plasticity?
9- Can it model the impact and blast loading on concrete buildings with showing the fragmentation of concrete ?.
10- Can it do analysis of concrete building exposed to fire & mechanical load at the same time?
11- Can it generate reinforcement detailing drawings after analysis and design of concrete structures as shop drawing and blueprints without need to export to Autocad or Revit?
12-Can it model and analysis the concrete foundations as RAFT, PILE, Retaining walls, ....?
13- Can it model soil-structure interaction?
14- Can it use physical model during model concrete elements or use only wire elements?
15- Can it model and analysis the pre-stressed concrete and pre-cast concrete ?
16- Can it design the retrofitting works of the concrete foundation and injection the soil?
17- Can the user build the model manually without importing 2D autocad file or it is necessary to import the cad file and which is the best way?
18- Can it model other structure rather than buildings as bridges, tunnels, tanks, halls, stadiums,...?
19- Can it contains ACI code, EuroCode, ....?
