I am trying to model a shipping container that is pinned at 3 of the 4 corners. I want the 4th corner to be able to deflect up to 20mm before coming into contact with the ground.
I have pinned corners 1, 2 and 3. I have "FIXED BUT FX FZ MX MY MZ KFY 0.01" corner 4. I have then used a multi-linear spring with a low stiffness (0.01kN/mm) for the 1st 20mm, and a large stiffness (10E6kN/mm) for the ground after 20mm. The model seems to ignore the multi-linear spring and just keeps a spring stiffness of 0.01kN/mm.
Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
