Can anyone suggest the best way to model a flared column head in RAM concept flat slab design. Flared heads are required to increase punching capacity as this is a transfer slab with high loads.
Should I simply use columns of the size required at the flare, or will this give unrealistic moment transfer due to unrealistically stic column stiffness.
i would like the punching checks to recognise the flare in the checks.
Can a stiff slab section of the same size as the flare be used, or will this not be recognised by the punching checks?
Any advice welcome.
