I am creating a circular flat plate with 3 holes in it with multiple structural members. I created the geometry using the structure wizard, specifically the circular beam option. This plate was originally constructed as a member frame and now I am trying to plate mesh it in order to have the connectivity between the plates and members. If I were to create the circular plate out of plate elements from the get go my members would not coincide with the existing plate mesh, resulting in low connectivity.
I am trying to parametric mesh the current geometry and I am getting a very large amount of nodes and my run time is lagging because of it (model is shown below in a screen shot). Am I taking the right approach in the meshing process? In the screen shot the large number of nodes is shown due to the parametric mesh. Please provide insight on a quicker more efficient way to create plate mesh for my geometry.
