I'm modeling a structure in Ram that has a single pitched roof. This roof also has a parapet on top that is 2.5 feet high. Because of the pitched roof and the size of the structure (130'x160') there is quite a difference in roof heights from the low point to the high point. I added the parapet as a wall on top of the roof. I don't know if the program then uses that extra wall height or does it just use the story height when applying the wind loading.
How do you apply wind loading to a wall that is not a constant height? There doesn't seem to be an option for that. You can do story height or an offset from a story height. Do you just pick the tallest part of your structure and the program is smart enough to apply apply a force to the walls below that point?
Thank you.
