I am using a Drilled Pier Foundation in STAAD Foundation Advanced. The software returns a really high Section Moment Capacity. I get 1,915 kNm for a 600 diameter pile with 32MPa concrete and 9 number 20mm diameter reinforcing with yield strength 500MPa.
I have tried to find some information on how this is calculated by looking through the help section but have had no luck. Designing to Australian Standards I would expect this to have a capacity of around 200kNm. I appreciate the software is designing to the US standards but the answer shouldn't be out by a factor of almost 10.
Can anyone explain this, if I cannot get confidence in the results I cannot use the software.
I have tried calling the help line but they will not help me, instead I am told to use this community and I have no idea how long before I get an answer of who the person is who will answer me. Starting to really regret purchasing Bentley!
