Dear All,
I am designing a G+70 storey Residential Building (Bottom 4 floors as podium + 2 Floors Stilt + Remaining all floors for residential purpose)
I have the following queries
1. Is STAAD-PRO (v8i) version suitable for such high rise structure
2. After Dynamic analysis (Response Spectrum Method) I found out that ratio of normal base shear calculated using fundamental time period to Design Seismic Base Shear (from Staad) is very high (48)
3. According to me Using (Response Reduction Factor) as 5 means that my above ratio should not exceed 5 , Is that correct because IS 1893:2002 states tha R is the factor by which the actual base shear force that would be generated if the structure were to remain elastic during its response to the Design BasisEarthquake (DBE ) shaking, shall be reduced to obtain the design lateral force
4. Which load combinations to be used
4. Can anyone help me out where i am going wrong and with reference material that will help me for dynamic analysis using Staad
