So I was wondering if there is a way to get this table but for each member in the structure rather than for the whole structure. No one is interested in visiting the Results Setup>Range Tab to filter the results in this table by the number of beams in the model (So if I want to have this table for each of the 1000 beams in the model I'll have to repeat this process 1000 times).
I need this as I will be using the results:
-Max axial, My equivalent, Mz equivalent (equivalent in the same load combination)
-My max, Axial eq, Mz eq
-Mz max, Axial eq, My eq
...for an external software for column design.
I'm not good with VBA so if anyone has an OpenSTAAD solution please consider it to be for novice. Solutions using Microsoft Excel are welcome as I will probably use excel to copy the results from and paste in the columns design software.
Side question 1: Are the 3 straining actions I'm looking for above the correct combinations to be considered in column design?
Side question 2: Would seeking the maximum stress be wiser and hence use the corresponding Fx, My and Mz for using in column design (but in this case I should seek max tensile and max compressive stresses)? Or is it wrong?
