Here is an interesting scenario. I am working on a project where I have to design the post tension beams. The system is precast slab with PT beams. Other than this we have lot of RC beams here and there. To do each individual beam separately by manually calculating the loads from the Precast slab and then apply on beams using two way and one way load distribution is a very long process.
I thought of another Idea. Can I model the whole system of beam and slab and then reduce the stiffness of Slab(KMr ,KMs, KMrs,KFr,KFs,KVrs) to 0.01 and then manually apply the self weight of precast slab and other loads. This is to ensure that the PT beams are not stiff and loads are actually getting distributed accordingly so that I can get proper details.
