I am trying to design beams for strength and serviceability using AISC 360-10.
I wrote a short file to investigate the use of (Load List Envelope......) command.
1. When I use "Check Code All", the output file shows the correct answer for deflection and strength calculations.
If you run the file, you will see the deflection as 1.463 inches. This value seems reasonable.
Double clicking on the member, and checking the tab "Deflection" I found the deflection to be 1.472 inches, this is the value obtained using the AISC Manual equations.
I know that the Manual equations take into account only flexural deformation.
2. I added the command "Select All" just right after "Check Code All", to see if StaadPro will select a different section.
If you take a look to the output file, StaadPro will select the same section W12x72 as expected.
The strength check is correct and similar to the file without "Select All" command.
If you look at the deflection check, you will notice that the answer is wrong and totally different to the first run without selection.
I attach the input file with the "Select All" command disable.
Is something wrong in my file?
