I have clarification regarding Ec8 response spectrum load?
1. I have read some forum and its said that there is no need to do seismic definition in EC8 but some thread in IS you have to compare VB(response spectrum) and Vb (lateral force method)?
My question is that is there a need for a multiplying factor or scale in EC8?, if no need then how can I compare the two base shear?
2. about missing mass in EC8, my Dynamic weight which is modal weight is 4.996E+01 kN and modal weight x participation factor= 4.996E+01 kN that leads to missing of -4.996E-04kN.
My question why the result in staad which is -1.475909E-11 different with my calculation above?
Then is this missing weight acceptable?
3. lastly what is the difference if I used load type elastic rather than design? I have noticed elastic have bigger acceleration compare to design?
